Design Your Life For Riches
8/14/2020 - Author: Jason Cook - Searchlight Organization:
I am so incredibly glad you found this article. The reason I am so glad is because I am about to hand you the keys to success and your life is about to change. Sound too good to be true? I assure you it's not. It’s available and ready for you to use in your everyday life...right now. What is this magical elixir you ask? It’s not luck. It’s not a super secret concoction created by a wizard in a dark cave somewhere. It’s a state of mind that will help you begin to design your life for riches and I’d like to tell you more about it, but first, there is something that needs to be cleared out of the way:
I’m not good enough, I don’t have enough, I don’t have enough money...
Limited Thinking...ugh...the bane of self transformation at every level. Limited thinking is the first thing we need to extinguish when designing our life for riches. It is the idea of not having enough resources or the belief that there are reasons you cannot achieve a goal. The problem with limited thinking is that most people stop as soon as they realize the limited belief. As soon as they think, “I can’t do this because…,” they are automatically cutting themselves off from the blessing. They will take no more action, no longer give it any thought, and worst of all, never accomplish the goal they want to achieve. Do yourself a favor: Believe you can achieve. Once you believe in yourself, you will be open to solutions, enlightenment, and action. So what does this have to do with getting rich?
Gimme dat cash!
Hold up, sport. There is something else we need to address before we go any further. Does a stack of hundred-dollar-bills in your hand mean you are rich? Or does having a good job, great family, great vacations, a home that makes you happy, and a fulfilling spiritual life sound like true riches? I hate to break it to you, but that stack o’ cash ain’t going to do much for you unless you have first designed your life for riches. Luckily, that is what this article is about.
Here is an interesting fact for you, 70% of lottery winners end up being broke within 7 years according to an article in the New York Daily News (abc15.com). They call this the “Lottery Curse.” It’s no coincidence. Success, after all, is a state of mind and if someone receives money without being in a state of success, designed by a life of riches, don’t be surprised when the money falls through their fingers. Don’t worry, though. You won’t fall for this, because I am going to discuss with you the techniques for designing your life for the ultimate experience, the VIP treatment, the carefully hidden secret whether you win the lottery or not.
Technique #1: Create Meaningful Goals
Let me first say that without goals, very little gets accomplished in life. If you want to start achieving anything, start creating a robust set of goals. Secondly, when you create your set of goals, look within. You need to be completely honest with yourself and create goals that bring true and real meaning to your life. Think bucket list items here. Are there any experiences you are looking for? Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but just never had the time or money? Take out the time and money factors and you’ll have a great goal to put on your list. Time and money is of no consequence. If that goal is meaningful enough, these factors will not matter.
You must believe you can achieve so your mind can stay open to all the possibilities. Imagine if Bill Gates didn’t start Microsoft because he thought he didn’t have enough money or didn’t think he could start a company out of his garage. You may not be reading this article right now, someone else may have developed the Windows program and Bill Gates could be working at an IT Help Center most likely helping someone troubleshoot a printer problem making 15 bucks an hour. I digress. Let’s talk about how to find the best information about getting rich.
Technique #2: Find Wisdom
No matter what you believe, there have been masters that have come before you to illustrate what brings true riches. I know, they can sometimes be a little dry at times, but open yourself to their messages of wisdom. Many of them will teach you about being generous, kind, treating others the way you want to be treated, and loving others. This is absolutely, without a doubt, the most important step to becoming rich. The truth is serving others, being kind, and actively loving those in your world puts you in a state of success, drawing others closer to you.
I am reminded of a quote I heard in the 1939 hit, “Wizard of Oz” movie. When Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man finally meet the wizard at the Emerald City, he presents the Tin Man with a heart and says: “and remember, my sentimental friend, that a Heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others.” The implicit message here is that to love someone takes no action. It is simply just a feeling. It is when this love is turned into action that we truly reach others. By giving love, we receive the greatest gift of all. I’ll let you go out and give it a try to see what this gift is and how positive it makes you feel. Being positive brings us to our next technique, which is practicing gratitude.
Technique #3 - Be Positive and Experience Gratitude
Feeling grateful for what you have is the core of what it means to be positive. When we feel like we have enough, we create an emotional situation in which we can pour out that abundance for others who are lacking. This also relates to focusing on the positive in everyday situations.
Many studies have illustrated the effects of those who practice gratitude (postivepsychology.com). The results are resounding. Participants who focused on gratitude by writing down what they are thankful for or performing acts of kindness on a regular basis were found to have some of the following effects:
These statistics beautifully illustrate the positive effects of gratitude. In addition, a little self discipline can help you feel more positive as well. Keeping anger in check, finding the positive in a stressful situation, and comforting others can go a long way to ensure your positive vibes aren’t interrupted by negative emotion. Next, let’s read more about how meaningful actions can impact your life in a successful way.
Technique #4: Take Meaningful Action
The daily grind. The killer of souls. It can be hard finding a life of meaning when your life is absolutely boring or repetitive. Instead, be mindful and take note of the things that make you feel a sense of happiness. Perhaps you get fulfillment out of an artistic hobby or you enjoy the feeling of awe you get when you travel to a favorite place. Anything that gets your passion for life flowing needs to happen often and regularly.
For me, I love camping on the weekends. I like getting up early, grabbing my lawn chair and enjoying the sunrise with a perfectly hot cup of joe while listening to the birds chirp. I enjoy the happy strolls with my wife around the campground and running into others whom I can have conversation with. At one time, though, I would often hesitate reserving campsites purely because of the added expense that comes along with it. After several summers of rarely camping, I realized if it truly brings me a sense of joy, why am I not doing my best to create that experience often. Just by adjusting my financial goals, these campsite reservations are now one of the few things I am allowed to spend savings money on and I am much more fulfilled now doing what I love.
So whether you love biking, camping, creating artistic works, volunteering...whatever it is, don’t be afraid to spend a little on it, or find cheaper options, to bring regular and ongoing action into your life and especially if it helps you achieve a meaningful goal. This brings us to our last technique to designing your life for riches.
Technique #5: Find Focus
By creating, tracking, and spending a little time every day on your goals, you will naturally find the focus you need to bring real riches into your life and stay in the state of success. In addition to directly working on your goals, you should also consider some regular sources of inspiration to help maintain focus. This could be reading books and articles, volunteering or joining a club in an area related to your passion, or even finding a coach that will help you reach those goals and inspire you at the same time.
Remember high school sports? You had a coach for that. You also may have had music lessons with a music teacher to help you reach musical goals. Your pastor? A coach for your spirituality. Why not consider a goal coach for reaching your goals? As someone in the field of goal coaching, I can say that it is a very effective solution for most obstacles. Think of it kind of like seeing a general practitioner for most issues before paying the big bucks to see a medical specialist for just one thing. They can keep you accountable and ensure you are making consistent weekly progress on the goals that are the most meaningful to you. Are you ready?
The keys of blessing are now in your hand. Where you take them is up to you, but I sincerely hope and pray for your success. I believe in the power of helping others and assisting people in achieving a life filled with happiness and adventure. Don’t ever slow down and never stop trying to achieve your dreams. You have the power to design and experience a life that is absolutely full of riches as long as you’re willing to believe in your own power. Feel free to reach out and let me know how my articles have impacted your life. I would love to hear your story. Many blessings to you, my dear friends.
